[Letter] 1877 Feb. 5, Alexandria to Uncle John [A. Broadus] / Thomas A. Broadus. 1877.

Wrote about the house his family had newly moved into. Friends in the community brought household goods including "fowls in lots sent down on the train." His toddler son, Edmund's nurse, "Johnny," a ten year old is the "help-- runs errands, tends fires, 'muses [sic] Edmund, and "is the son of Chloe, Mother's cook." Includes a silhouette sketch of Johnny. Asks Broadus' aid in having articles published.
